Ground Transportation

  • The Brasilian government will provide each delegation with:

1 armored premium sedan for the Head of State or Government;
1 sedan for High Officials;
1 sedan for Protocol

  • The delegations are free to rent additional vehicles, although the presidential motorcades cited above will be limited to the vehicles previously mentioned, plus two additional vehicles for the Brasilian security, according to the following order: Protocol vehicle, first security vehicle, VIP vehicle, second security vehicle, High Officials vehicle.
  • No armored car will be provided by the Brasilian government to delegates other than the Heads of State or Government, but the delegations are allowed to rent any vehicle they require, at their own expenses. The delegations will be allowed to replace the cars put at their disposal by the Brasilian government for the vehicles they find more suitable to their needs. In this case, the delegations should inform the organization of the summit at least 10 days before the arrival of the authorities. Request for changes should be sent to aspa@mre.gov.br. All additional vehicles and their drivers must be accredited. Please see forms F 5 and F 6.
  • There is a limited number of seats available in each motorcade. Priority will be given to the transportation of the Head of State or Government and other high authorities. In case of large delegations, there may not be enough seats to everyone. The transportation of the exceeding delegates should be provided by the delegations themselves or their diplomatic representatives in Brasília.
  • During the days of the event, transportation between the recommended hotels and the Blue Tree Complex will be provided throughout the day to all participating delegates, according to a timetable that will be announced. This procedure does not apply to the Heads of State and Government, who have their individual motorcades.
  • After the opening ceremony on the 10th May at Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center, in order to reduce the time required for the boarding in 34 individual motorcades, the Heads of States will be exceptionally transported to the Blue Tree Complex by bus.
