Divisão da Ásia Central (DASC) Compete à Divisão da Ásia Central acompanhar a evolução dos cenários político e econômico e das políticas externas dos países de sua competência – Cazaquistão, República Quirguiz, Tadjiquistão, Turcomenistão e Uzbequistão –, bem como preparar subsídios para as demais unidades do Ministério de Relações Exteriores, notas à imprensa, palestras, artigos e outras informações sobre os cinco países. A Divisão acompanha e supervisiona os assuntos pertinentes às relações do Brasil com cada um dos países de sua competência e coordena a preparação de visitas oficiais de lado a lado. Ocupa-se também da temática relativa à Organização de Cooperação Econômica, organização intergovernamental regional.
Notícia Breve: Division of Central Asia It is Division of Central Asia’s duty to observe the evolution of political and economic scenarios and the foreign policies of countries under its responsibility – Kazakhstan, Kyrgys Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – as well as prepare supportive information for other units of the Ministry of External Relations, press notes, speeches, articles and further information regarding those countries. The Division follows and supervises matters concerning the relations of Brazil with each of the five countries and coordinates the preparation of bilateral official visits. It occupies itself also with themes related to the Economic Cooperation Organization, an intergovenmental, regional organization.
Brief Notice: In 2006, the visit of Uzbek Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs gave a new impetus to the relationship with Brazil. The signature of an Agreement between APEX and Uzinfoinvest is expected to further enhance bilateral relations. Uzbek President was invited to visit Brazil, the agenda not having been confirmed yet. The bonds between Brazil and Central Asia take advantage of the priority granted to Asia by Brazil’s present-day foreign policy. The Ministry of External Relations’ special assessor for Asia conducted a mission throughout the five Central-Asian capitals, with the objective of establishing a contacts routine which can promote mutual knowledge and strengthen ties within all fields. The missions have also contributed to the identification of areas specially conducive to the development of bilateral cooperation, such as agriculture and energy.
